Super Mario Galaxy Film Teaser Arrives, Unveiling Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voices
Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. This occurred during a dedicated Nintendo presentation that focused exclusively on the forthcoming animated feature.
The follow-up to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the outer limits of the galaxy. There, he will encounter a new princess and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.
An Interstellar Journey Based on Classic Games
Much like the Wii console classics that provide its foundation, Mario will depart from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. On his epic voyage, he will encounter once more some recognizable characters, such as the Luma, a popular character from the original cinematic release.
However, it seems Mario and his sibling Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who apparently utilizes powers related to metal. Interestingly, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also contains hints to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers
The movie will welcome back of the primary vocal talent, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
A Big Year for Mario
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is planned to debut near the four-decade milestone of the original Super Mario Bros. game. In addition to the movie, 2026 promises to be a important time for Mario and his companions.
Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles officially announced for 2026, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a new Yoshi platformer titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Premiere Date Announced
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
